Candlelight tour of the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte

From May to October, and only on Saturdays, the castle and its gardens are illuminated by 2,000 real candles. These aren't electric lights, but living flames – in the halls, on the staircases, along the alleys, and by the fountains. The castle's façade appears golden and "breathing." The alleys and stalls are illuminated with soft lights. Reflections in the water make the scene almost surreal. Classical music is added. And this entire spectacle culminates in a magnificent fireworks display. In the evening, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte transforms into a space of light, shadow, and living history. Academic interest in architecture fades, the rush of tourists disappears, and the feeling of having stepped into another time remains.

I'll pick you up in Paris between 6:30 and 7:00 PM in a comfortable, luxury Mercedes Class V minivan. The drive to Vaux-le-Vicomte takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. We'll begin with a visit to a private collection of antique carriages. Then, we'll take a leisurely tour of the château's interior. After exploring the palace, we'll visit the candlelit garden.
